Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Jack Hall is set to leave Hillsborough this summer, according to a report by The Star.
Sheffield Wednesday are poised to cut ties with the stopper at the end of the season. His contract at SWFC expires in late June and he will become available to other clubs as a free agent.
Hall, 20, will have to weigh up his options and consider his next move in the game. He is currently away on loan from the South Yorkshire outfit in non-league with Bridlington Town to get some experience under his belt.
In this latest update regarding his future by The Star, he will head out the exit door later this year for a new challenge with the Owls deciding against keeping hold of him. The report adds that he was on the radar of Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion a couple of years ago but he ended up staying put.
Sheffield Wednesday have seen their form slump over recent weeks and their campaign has started to fizzle out. They are sat in 14th place in the table with only four fixtures left to play and they are 10 points off the play-offs after their loss to Oxford United.
Sheffield Wednesday to part ways with Jack Hall
Sheffield Wednesday’s goalkeeping department is in line for a shake-up ahead of next term. James Beadle is due to return to Brighton and Hove Albion, whilst Pierce Charles may well be their number one.
Hall may have fancied his chances of breaking into the first-team picture with the Owls. However, he will now have to find himself a new home and it remains to be seen at this stage who could potentially be interested in landing him.
He was given the green light to leave on a temporary basis when Bridlington Town came calling earlier this year. The prospect has been getting plenty of game time with the Northern Premier League Division One East outfit to help boost his development.
What now for Jack Hall at Sheffield Wednesday?
Hall’s impending exit from Sheffield Wednesday will free up some space and funds. The Worksop-born man joined the Owls back in 2010 and has since risen up through their academy.
He has been a regular at various different youth levels and has trained with the first-team in the past. The youngster has also been on the bench but is yet to make a senior appearance due to competition for his position.
As well as Bridlington Town, he has also spent time away at Bradford Park Avenue. The player now facing an uncertain future and will be weighing up what to do next.

Forget Danny Rohl – Southampton’s ideal manager to secure instant Premier League return should be obvious
Southampton secured their return to the Premier League just over 12 months ago after beating Leeds United 1-0 in the play-off final at Wembley. However, fast forward to now and the Saints have been relegated back to the Championship already after a disastrous season in the top flight. The ill-prepared Hampshire outfit have struggled for results and may well end up being the worst team in Premier League history by the time this campaign comes to an end.
They sacked Russell Martin earlier this term in an attempt to turn their fortunes around. However, his replacement Ivan Juric wasn’t any better and has since departed as well. They now have a huge decision to make on who to bring in as their replacement.
Southampton’s ideal replacement for Ivan Juric
Southampton have been heavily linked with a move for Sheffield Wednesday head coach Danny Rohl. The 35-year-old German has worked with the Saints as part of their backroom staff in the past. Although he has worked wonders with the Owls under difficult circumstances, there is another, more attractive option they should consider instead.
Hull City took a gamble on Liam Rosenior back in November 2022. He spent a large chunk of playing career with the Tigers and was a popular man in East Yorkshire before landing the top job. The 40-year-old managed to keep them in the Championship comfortably in his first year and they then pushed for the play-offs last year.
Rosenior’s Hull side finished 7th in the table and were three points off the top six in the end. He was then though surprisingly sacked by their owner Acun Ilicali in a move that raised eyebrows across the Football League. Tim Walter came in to replace him at the MKM Stadium and has since been replaced by Ruben Selles.
Strasbourg, a sister club of Chelsea, subsequently came calling for Rosenior and although the former Derby County man could have easily stayed in England, he decided to get out of his comfort zone and test himself in France. His gamble has massively paid off and he has adapted well to life in Ligue 1. His team are currently battling for a place in Europe but they could face a battle to keep him.
