Hull City attacker linked with transfer move away from MKM Stadium
The Tigers’ attacking player continues to be linked with a move away from the MKM Stadium
Hull City playmaker Abdus Omur has again been linked with a move back to his native Turkey when the January transfer window opens for business on Wednesday.
Omur has struggled to make any kind of impact since joining City from Trabzonspor in January last year, and has not yet scored a goal in any of his 36 Championship appearances, though he does have three assists.
After being slowly integrated last season under Liam Rosenior, the 25-year-old playmaker has fallen down the pecking order under Tim Walter and then Ruben Selles, making just 19 appearances but just 11 starts in the opening 24 games of the campaign and didn’t get off the bench on Sunday in the 1-0 win a Blackburn Rovers.
Reports in Turkey claim Super Lig clubs Basaksehir, Eyüpspor and Göztepe are all keen on signing Omur, though it’s claimed he would prefer a move back to his former club, but that’s been ruled out by Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan.
It’s claimed that if Omur were to leave the MKM Stadium and head back to his homeland, he would prefer a switch to Başakşehir or Eyüpspor, owing to his preference to being based in Istanbul.
Hull Live understands, however, there is no truth to those reports at this stage, and Abdus is set to remain at the MKM Stadium post the transfer window closing.
Hull City head coach Ruben Selles remained coy over the future of on-loan goalkeeper Carl Rushworth just two days before the transfer window opens for business.
Rushworth has not played since joining City on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion on deadline day in the summer, having been struck down with a serious ankle injury the day before he was due to make his debut against Sunderland in late October.
City remain well-stocked in the goalkeeping department with Ivor Pandur in good form, keeping his first clean sheet since August 24 at Blackburn Rovers on Sunday in the 1-0 Ewood Park victory, and have former Champions League stopper Anthony Racioppi yet to make his Championship debut following his summer move.
The Tigers want Rushworth to remain at the club and challenge Pandur for the number one jersey next month, but understand the Seagulls have the right to make the overall decision on his future.
