Clemson (27-5) downed SMU (23-10) in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals in a 57-54 thriller on March 13. The third-seeded Tigers will play second-seed Louisville at 9:30 p.m. on March 14 with a trip to the championship game awaiting the winner.
“It was just hard for both teams to score, but our guys just kind of hung in there,” head coach Brad Brownell said. “It felt like we just were playing with a piano on our back, like we were stressed and not enjoying the moment as much as we need to.
“Hopefully this win helps us do that.”
