The Tennessee Volunteers started 2026 recruiting on an extremely high note. Behind that, the Volunteers are off to a strong start in the class.
The program landed a verbal commitment from five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon. But there are still several months until Tennessee can officially sign Brandon. On the latest episode of “The Ultimate College Football Show,” though, 247Sports recruiting analyst Tom Loy argued the Volunteers have little to worry about in terms of holding onto Brandon’s commitment.
“I do not think he’s even wavering in the slightest,” Loy argued. “He’s a super active recruiter. We already talked about one of his top targets in Tristen Keys. “I like Tennessee to keep him in the class, and I expect some big-time talent to join him in Knoxville,” concluded Loy. On3 projected Brandon’s NIL value to be $1 million.
Behind Brandon’s commitment, the Volunteers have received verbal commitments from seven other 2026 prospects. Four of those other seven commitments are offensive players.
Brandon could also help Tennessee land other star prospects such as receiver Tristen Keys. On3’s Matt Ray reported on March 4 Tennessee is “entrenched in another heavyweight battle” for Keys
Standing at 6-foot-3.5 and 197 pounds, Brandon is the top recruit from the 2026 class overall according to 247Sports. Based on the 247Sports composite rankings, Brandon is the No. 2 quarterback and sixth-best prospect overall in 2026. Brandon will play his senior season at Grimsley High School in Greensboro, NC.
