Ola Aina has let slip that he is likely to sign a contract extension at Nottingham Forest, after stating that he hopes to be part of the Reds for many years.
The Nigeria international has roughly four months left on his contract at Nottingham Forest and was linked with moves to Manchester City and Galatasaray in the January transfer window.
Aina’s long-term future at Forest remains unresolved, with his representatives still in talks with the two-time European champions over a contract extension, but no agreement is in place as of now.
There is talk that the Chelsea academy graduate could put pen to paper on a fresh four-year deal once an agreement is finalized.
Predominantly a right-back for club and country, Aina has made quite an impression since landing at Nottingham Forest, showcasing his versatility in the fullback positions and wing-back, earning him a regular spot in Nuno Espírito Santo’s lineup.
When asked by Sky Sports if he sees himself staying at Nottingham Forest for many years, Aina responded: “I hope so. I really enjoy it here. I enjoy the staff, the players, the club, the community. Everything about it is a good place, so hopefully.”
