After winning promotion to the third tier of English football, Wrexham have not been shy about splashing the cash.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have dipped into their pockets on several occasions, allowing the Red Dragons to break their transfer record three times in less than a year.

Ollie Rathbone arrived from Rotherham United for a record fee before Modou Faaal surpassed him just a couple of weeks later.

In the most recent transfer window, meanwhile, Wrexham broke their transfer record for Sam Smith, who should hopefully put an end to their striker woes.

While most signings had an instant impact at the Racecourse Ground, a couple are, or were, on course to flop.

Sebastian Revan has been poor for Wrexham, failing to offer the required attacking threat from the wing-back position.

If the Welsh outfit do get promoted this season, it’s hard to see the former Aston Villa man having much of a future at the club.

Dan Scarr, signed from Plymouth Argyle over the summer, was also on his way to becoming something of a transfer blunder.

Scarr has expressed frustration at his Wrexham playing time on a couple of occasions this term, seeing very few minutes in League One.Scarr commits future to Argyle and pens two-year contract | Plymouth Argyle - PAFC

However, the stopper has been afforded a chance to prove his worth in the EFL Trophy this term, starting both of their recent meetings with Port Vale and Bolton Wanderers.

Scarr was ‘rusty’ for Wrexham against Birmingham City late last month but he improved a great deal against Bolton.
