Leicester City star confirms own transfer in video as he kisses new badge and says ‘it’s amazing’

Wilfred Ndidi has confirmed his transfer from Leicester City to Besiktas

Wilfred Ndidi has confirmed his transfer from Leicester City to Besiktas, saying: “It’s really amazing.”

Besiktas have posted a video interview with Ndidi on their official X account.

Joining Besiktas is really amazing for me,” the midfielder said. “This is my second time in Turkey and I feel really great.”

Ndidi was wearing his new club’s colours, adding: “It feels really great. Before I put it (the home shirt) on I kissed the badge which is very important, it shows love.”

And he had a message for fans of the Turkish club.

“I want them to enjoy this season and we’ll see what comes out of this season,” he said. “I will try my best to support the team, be part of the team and also try my best for us to win more games because more games means trophies, so we’ll see how it goes.”

But City are said to be set to receive around £8m for the player, who is expected to sign a three-year contract, until 2028, with his new club.

Besiktas had earlier issued a statement on Ndidi’s arrival in Turkey.

“The professional footballer Wilfred Ndidi, with whom we have started transfer negotiations, has arrived in Istanbul to continue the talks and undergo a medical examination,” the club confirmed.
